INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS AND PROJECTS
Industrial Associations
European Photovoltaic Industry Association
- EPIA aims to promote photovoltaics at the national,
European and Worldwide levels and to assist its members in the development of
their businesses in both the European and in export markets.
International Photovoltaic Equipment Association
- IPVEA, founded in May 2008 is an independent, non-profit organization of
manufacturers and suppliers of photovoltaic (PV) fabrication equipment and related
raw materials used in PV ingot, wafer, cell and panel manufacturing.
Solar Electric Power Association
- The Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) is a collaboration of utilities,
energy service providers and the photovoltaic industry working together to
create and encourage commercial use of new solar electric power business models.
International Organisations
Eurosolar
- Eurosolar was founded in 1988, and is an independent institution. The main
tasks are activities to make the replacement of nuclear and fossil fuels and
their sources with environmentally sound energy sources, using both direct and
indirect sources of a solar energy (= renewable energies).

Solar Electric Light Fund
- SELF is a non-profit organization which promotes, develops, and facilitates solar
rural electrification and energy self-sufficiency in developing countries.
The World Energy Council
- WEC is the foremost global multi-energy organisation in the world today.
WEC has Member Committees in over 90 countries, including most of the largest
energy-producing and energy consuming countries.
International Projects
IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme
- The Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA-PVPS) is one of the
collaborative R&D Agreements established within the International Energy Agency.
The participants are conducting joint projects in the application of photovoltaic
conversion of solar energy into electricity, so-called solar photovoltaic
electricity.
EU PV Platform
- The Photovoltaic Technology Platform is a European initiative which aims at
mobilising all the actors sharing a long-term European vision for photovoltaic;
realising the European Strategic Research Agenda for PV for the next decade(s)
and give recommendations for implementation; ensuring that Europe maintains
industrial leadership.
REN21
- REN21 convenes international multistakeholder leaders to enable a rapid
global transition to renewable energy. REN21 promotes renewable energy to meet
the needs of both industrialised and developing countries that are driven by
climate change, energy security, development and poverty alleviation.
CADDET IEA-OECD Renewable Energy
- Source of global information on proven, commercial applications covering
the full range of renewable energy technologies.
