engineering the solar age - provides information about key applications, technologies and, most importantly, the key players in the fields of machine engineering, automation and factory design.
100% Renewable Energy and Beyond for Cities - Modern cities are, above all else, the product of fossil fuel technology. Could they exist and thrive, without the routine use of oil, gas and coal? What can be done to minimize their climate impacts and to maximize their use of renewable energy? To find answers to these questions is the task of the joint Commission on Cities and Climate Change of the World Future Council Foundation and HafenCity University Hamburg. Peter Droege's pioneering text assesses the options and surveys the evidence for a transformation of communities and cities towards carbon neutrality and beyond.
Methodology Guidelines on Life Cycle Assessment of Photovoltaic Electricity - This document contains the methodology guidelines on how to perform life cycle inventory analysis and life cycle impact assessments of grid-connected photovoltaic electricity. It is based on the methodology guidelines drafted so far and it is extended according to the discussions on August 31, 2008 in Valencia.
Solar Energy for Germany - The publication provides an excellent overview of the strengths, opportunities and potential of the world's leading solar industry location and presents the face of the German solar industry as an economic engine and a regional location.
Renewable energy sources in figures - national and international development - "Renewable Energies in Figures" has been published by the Federal Environment Ministry every year since 2002. It provides the latest facts and information on the development of renewable energies in Germany, the European Union and throughout the world.
Trends in photovoltaic applications - Survey report of selected IEA countries between 1992 and 2008. This report presents the results of the 14th international survey. It provides an overview of PV power systems applications, markets and production in the reporting countries and elsewhere at the end of 2008 and analyzes trends in the implementation of PV power systems between 1992 and 2008.
PV Status Report 2009 - The Eighth Edition of the PV Status Report gives an overview about the current activities regarding Research, Manufacturing and Market Implementation.
Photovoltaic Solar Energy, Development and current research - This synopsis describes the projects funded under FP6, in the research, development and demonstration domain, their aims and the achieved results.
Global Climate Change Policy Tracker: An Investor's Assessment - Detailed Analysis of Targets by Region and Country; October 2009
Renewables Global Status Report - Energy Transformation Continues Despite Economic Slowdown. The REN21 Renewables Global Status Report 2009, update shows that the fundamental transition of the world's energy markets continue.
PV Barometer 2009 - overview about installed PV power capacity in the EU. Report also available in:
Solar Generation V - Greenpeace and EPIA are joining forces for the fifth time to publish a report on PV solar electricity: Solar Generation V. Apart from providing an overview of the current worldwide status of PV in terms of policy, technology and economics, Solar Generation contains credible scenarios which prove once again that PV is clearly on the way to becoming a well-established energy source in the coming decades; EPIA, Greenpeace, September 2008.
Innovative Photovoltaics - In addition to the "Solar Energy for Germany" project, Solarpraxis & Sunbeam together with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) brought out this publication in 2007 that focuses on thin film technology. Report also available in:
Energy Rich Japan - The Energy Rich Japan (ERJ) report examines how Japan's energy need can be reduced and ultimately be covered by a sustainable energy system using exclusively local, renewable energies. This is shown utilising a demand model, a supply model and a simulation of the electrical system.
Global Market Outlook for Photovoltaics until 2013 - In 2008, the Global Photovoltaic (PV) market reached 5.6 GW and the cumulative PV power installed totalled almost 15 GW compared to 9 GW in 2007. Spain represented almost half of the new installations in 2008 with about 2.5 GW of new capacities, followed by Germany with 1.5 GW of additional connected. The US confirmed its trend with 342 MW of newly-installed PV systems, followed by South Korea which registered 274 MW of PV installations over the year. Italy connected almost 260 MW while France, Portugal, Belgium and the Czech Republic made good scores confirming Europe's Global leadership in the deployment of solar PV energy.
An Argument for Feed-In Tariffs - This report gives an overview over different support schemes and their characteristics.
